Help us make the Arts Center a great place for everyone!

The Geyer Performing Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a regional Arts Center for involvement in a broad range of shared artistic experiences. Through an enthusiastic group of dedicated and talented individuals, the old opera house has once again claimed its place as the area’s premier cultural outlet.
The majestic old building is 108-years-old this year of the Geyer’s 20th Anniversary Celebration. Our committed and clever maintenance staff has worked closely with the board of directors to quickly address problems and make improvements to keep the century old gathering place in good shape for the next 100 years.
But there is still so much to do. While we continuously look for ways to bring high quality, low cost programming to the stage and depend heavily on the generosity of our volunteers, a building of the theater’s regal age is sorely in need of modernization.

  • Our little theater off Broadway in Scottdale is home to four local production companies for whom area teens and adults create the kind of quality family entertainment we can all be proud of.
  • Due to the success of last summer’s “Camp Curtain Call” this year the Geyer’s Education Department, at the direction of Kat Post, will be hosting three summer theater camps for children grades 1 – 12. Income based tuition is available but spaces are limited.
  • For the first time ever, the theater proudly sponsored the “Premier Geyer Awards,” an exclusive event which honors the best performances of the past year. We are grateful for the strong local interest in Community Theater. We wanted to show our appreciation and hope the awards ceremony and the coveted “Tottie” award set the Geyer apart from other cultural outlets.
  • The Arts Center also hosts a home school group, provides adult education classes, offers rentals and provides support to surrounding businesses and other local charities.

The Arts Center has played muse to so many; please help us to restore our theater to her former glory. We are in need of updated equipment and improved guest amenities. From body microphones to improve sound quality to new carpeting more befitting of the grand old place, every improvement to the theater touches the lives of local citizens of all ages who join us here to nurture their inner artists.
